I had to return an order, and the refund showed up in maybe a couple of days, way quicker than I thought it would. I didn’t have to chase anyone or send like 5 follow-up messages. It was just simple and hassle-free, so I’m happy with how it went.

It was a cosy place and generally quiet enough to relax. The staff didn’t rush me at all, which I appreciated. Overall, I’d say it’s a solid choice if you’re looking for somewhere calm.

I tried to cancel my order soon after placing it, but support took a while to get back to me. When they finally replied, it was basically something like, "we’ll check on that for you," but by then the order had already shipped. Kind of frustrating because I was trying to stop it before it went out, and it felt like the response came too late to actually help.

The book showed up in great shape, corners and all, which was a pleasant surprise. The box was hilariously bigger than it needed to be, because apparently my book needed its own studio apartment, but hey, nothing was damaged. Happy overall.

I tried a few promo codes that looked promising, but most either didn’t work or came with so many exclusions they were basically useless. The sale section can be alright now and then, but even then the prices often felt higher than what I could find elsewhere. The free delivery threshold is another thing that sounds good in theory, but it makes smaller orders feel not really worth it. I’d probably shop there again if I specifically wanted something from Waterstones, but not if I was actually trying to get a decent bargain.
